Port City Review iss 11

Spring 2023

Port City Review is SCAD's student literary arts publication. As creative director, I organized publicity, submissions, judging, layout and design, and distribution. PCR received just under 1000 submissions from SCAD students across campuses, and I hand selected the best ~130 pieces and compiled them into the journal.

When designing magazine spreads, I pay attention to movement, color, and tone. I carefully played matchmaker with the selected pieces to ensure that they complimented each other on the page, and played with scale, bleed, and rhythm across each spread.

You can flip through this issue on Issuu.

2023 was the first year since 2019 that SCAD was able to host the Port City Review gallery: a spring exhibition of select works from the journal. With the help of my team at SCAD District, we hosted an inspiring gallery displaying original works including ceramics, sneakers, and readings of written work. It was a stellar end of year event to celebrate the talent and hard work of the SCAD student body
